He shares a story about a friend who lived nearby and returned to his apartment to find an airplane seat inside. Notarile also discusses his photography of American flags displayed throughout Soho and Tribeca after the attacks, and how one of his contact sheets was chosen for the permanent 9/11 memorial installation.
He expresses pride in creating a spirited and uplifting piece amidst the horrific and sad images of that time.
